What Do Radio Frequency (RF) Lasers Do And Do They Work?

Everyone wants to tighten their skin in various areas on their body. No matter how hard we work out or how much Botox and Filler you can get… sometimes it takes a good laser to fix the problem. One of the newer technologies on the market is still mysterious to most. So read on to learn how radio waves are fixing our problems without the pain and downtime of surgery.

Radio Frequency Skin Tightening

Sagging skin can be hard to deal with, especially since it cannot be easily targeted with diet and exercise alone. Wherever you find it—over the cheekbones, around your chin, under your arms, or along your waistline—loose skin is a struggle. In the past, surgical procedures or injectables have been the go-to solution for skin tightening. Fortunately, that isn’t the case anymore.

Non-surgical radio frequency treatments rejuvenate the appearance of skin by safely and comfortably heating the tissue under the skin’s surface. This triggers the natural production of collagen and elastin, the key building blocks of healthy, youthful skin. The result is effortlessly tighter, smoother, and younger-looking skin.

There are a TON of folks touting skin tightening or fat removal devices such as CoolSculpting, Liposonix, Ultherapy and VelaShape. Our personal favorite in the office is the Venus Legacy.

Cold technologies (such as CoolSculpting) can be effective at reducing fat but end up leaving loose skin afterwards which doesn’t solve the problem.

 

Ultrasound technologies like Ultherapy and Liposonix are highly expensive and EXTREMELY PAINFUL procedures that produce no better result than the Venus Legacy with more pain and more expense.

How much does it cost?

The Venus Legacy ranges from $360-1500 for a complete package of treatments.

How many treatments does it take?

Depending on the area treated it usually take 4-10 treatments (also depending on your individual goals.)

How close together do you need your series of treatments to be?

When you first begin your Venus Legacy treatments, you’ll need to come every 5-10 days.

How long does it last?

You results don’t disappear as much as you continue aging. Most folks repeat every 6 weeks – 6 months to maintain optimum results. And then just a single treatment is needed, not another series of treatments. If you don’t maintain treatments you will eventually go back to the way you looked before.

What results can I expect?

While everyone is different, the average client has between 1/4 inch – 1 inch of reduction. It comes from a combination of the skin tightening up and the shrinkage of fat tissue in the area. Here are some before and after pictures…

Radio Frequency MicroNeedling

If you’ve followed me for awhile you are aware I’m not a big fan of traditional microneedling. It’s ineffective, it’s painful and there’s a high risk of infection or worse! But wanting to stay with demand is important to me and we were getting lots of calls for microneedling so I started thinking…I wonder if there’s lasers that do this. After much searching we found the fantastic Venus Viva, microneedling technology with low risk and great results. What makes it different than traditional dermapen or microneedling services?
